karen just made a post about the painful choosing of her son's urn. in the background of some of these pics, you can see the size and color of kathlyn's. (raw truth - why again, do i have an urn?) right now, the white dove is leaning against it. you can also see a photo of me in the background where im dancing with my daddy... kathlyn's granddaddy, who she is with now. i just thought it was sweet that i was kind of peeking around. it wasnt intentional. that small piece hanging down is a cross.

In Our Hearts Forever, Kathlyn
the angel collection.. you can see the urn in the background, and it has a penny on top. a friend told me that pennies are hugs from heaven, and that was the first (and honestly, only so far) penny that i found after she told me that.
the pink angel, a friend painted for me. it is a candle holder. i prefer the back, since it has her name.
the small angel in front is brown hair/blue eyes like kathlyn.
the willow tree mommy and baby is from my mom this christmas (sorry mom, i opened it early, but i could tell by the box, i knew it was a willow tree and i wanted it :)
the sweet snow angel says "tis a gift to be a mom."
the glass angel in the back is a "hospice" angel. a friend who's mother died this year in hospice bought it for me, when she also bought one to remember her mom. it was the last one with pink.
the pink box in the background has all our sympathy cards. it is packed full.
the porcelein precious moments baby girl came in that pink box with a matching picture frame that says "God bless this baby girl." my nativity scene is also made of porcelein figures. Jesus in the manger is about the same size as this baby girl in her cradle. sacriligious to say such a thing, i know! i couldnt resist :) but, they are together now, after all.

my pretty manger scene.. and that is the closest thing we have to a tree this year..

kathlyn's angel stocking that her daddy picked out, and the joy ornament. my kathlyn joy :,)

Katie and Daddy matching stockings.

I bought this girl Baby's First Christmas stocking years ago on sale after Christmas for 99 cents (bought the boy version too!)... that is one of her original footprints in the photo slot.. not a copy, meaning the actual paper and ink that her foot touched.

Another pink Baby's First stocking that was given to us by a family who has 3 girls, who all used the stocking and wanted Kathlyn to have it. They gave it to her at my baby shower in May.

Baby's First Christmas 2009
and so, that about covers it for us this year...

Aaaaah. Beth. Crying for you as I look through these lovely items you've posted to share with all of us. I wish so much, so much, that your Kathlyn was here on earth with you to enjoy this Christmas. Thank you for pointing out her urn as you know our quest to find something for George that fits (he was a big boy - 54 cm long) and we like. I popped something in the mail to you today but I am a bonehead. I wrote your husband's name as Mike but it's not, is it? It's John. Oh my. My brain. Apologize for me, okay???? (((Hugs)))
ReplyDeletep.s. Did I share with you something another sad mum here that I met said? She shared at our women's study group that she'd lost a baby about 18 weeks along and that what was helping her was to realize how long in eternity she will have with that child. This sorrow, this time now, will seem so brief compared to endless days. I have to get myself resigned to losing the selfish desire to have my George here *now* but it's some comfort to think of eternity. Christian parents hope to have their children go to heaven and we already have three there between us (I lost a baby at 13 weeks into the pregnancy in 2008). (((Hugs)))
ReplyDeleteI've heard that about pennies too.
ReplyDeleteI just love Kathlyn's urn (feels so wrong saying that). Could you share where you got it. Right now, Ella's are in a small pewter heart. But, a ceramic butterfly I had in my window fell off and landed on her urn. It's scratched now. So, I'm searching for a new and improved one.
I adore your angels and stockings collection. Kathlyn is so very loved!
