March for Babies

Saturday, April 24 in downtown Charlotte, the March of Dimes, March for Babies, Team Kathlyn Joy..

http://www.marchforbabies.org/team/t1369651 --- to join or donate!

I`m very excited to be a part of March for Babies this year and hope you will join my team.

Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. 1 in approximately 140 pregnancies ends in stillbirth, the death of the baby after 20 weeks gestation, and often at full term, like what happened unexpectedly to our sweet Kathlyn Joy. We`re walking because we want to do something about this.

The money we raise will support March of Dimes research on prematurity, birth defects, stillbirth, and early infant death.

Does the March of Dimes support research on stillbirth?
The causes of stillbirth often are the same as the causes of birth defects, preterm birth and infant death. The March of Dimes supports many grants on genetic abnormalities, placental problems, maternal illnesses (including high blood pressure) and fetal infections, all of which can contribute to stillbirth and other adverse pregnancy outcomes. The ultimate goal of these grants is to develop new ways to prevent and treat these disorders, so they do not result in stillbirth, birth defects or other pregnancy complications.

Please join my team. You can do so on my team Web page. If you can`t walk with me, please help the team reach our goal by making a donation. You can do that online as well.

Thank you for helping me give all babies a chance to live a healthy life!

I am thinking of ordering some shirts like this, but they are SOOO expensive to be this personalized. There are some generic ones that are much less expensive... if you think you would be interested in one, let me know. The teams with matching shirts really stand out.

  1. Hi! Nice Shirts-
We did a run/walk for an organization here... we were 'team noah'.. and I made shirts... found it was cheaper. I bought the shirts at Michaels (not sure if they are in the states, but probably)... then I bought Iron on transfers at Staples, and used my colour printer to print on them, then ironed them on! There are pictures on my facebook... I think! and definatly some on my In Memory of baby Noah group page.
