I received this from Franchesca at Handprints from Heaven. Thank you for your kind words. The rules are to list 7 things about yourself and 7 blogs you'd like to honor.
I would like to pass along to
Bree because she has been emailing me tirelessly during my difficult times right now.
Courtney, my dear supportive friend from church because I know she's reading :) Please note, Courtney is not a BLM and her blog is about her sweet little boy.
Carey, my friend from work, for the same reason as Courtney, and please also note, she is not a BLM and writes about her children.
Karen, even though I know she's already been nominated, I have to nominate her because she called me this week. Great to hear her voice... you can tell she is so kind and gentle. She wasn't kidding when she says her hands are busy. On the phone in just a few short minutes, her little girl had a little pee-pee accident and her husband cut his finger, neither of which frazzled her in the least :) She grieves so sweetly and openly for her baby George.
Cora's Mommy to help her spread awareness about CHD. She is doing great things over there to honor her baby girl.
Ashley for making such a heartfelt post about her babies at Christmas. Her ornaments were so beautiful and the love for her sweet Mackenzie was so clear.
Rachel, because I love her video blogs. They are beautiful and touching.
7 things about me.
1 - They tell you not to do this (who are "they" anyway? have "they" ever lost a child?), but first and foremost, I am Kathlyn's Mommy. They say not to define yourself by your children, or your loss, but I simply can't help it. Each of the bloggers I honored I believe would do the same thing for their lost and their living children.
2 - I have accepted the love of Jesus into my life, so I know where I'm going. Thank God, literally, because I need to know that I will see my baby again.
3 - To quote my husband, the quality of people I have chosen to surround myself with is simply amazing, and it is something we were not as sure of before July 30, 2009.
4 - I am a pediatric nurse through and through. This was truly my calling and I wish I'd figured it out much sooner in life. The simple fact that I can take care of sick infants after losing my own really proves how much it means to me.
5 - I don't like wearing socks, I prefer flip-flops and slip-ons, even in winter. I'm wearing socks right now. Hm.
6 - One of the only things I don't have in common with my dad is that I like chocolate and he never touched it. Otherwise I completely resemble him in both looks and personality. I think it's why my mom and I get along so well. They were perfect for each other. She knew him so well, and so she usually knows exactly how I'm going to think, act, say, do, before I do it.
7 - I struggle to think of anything to write that doesn't resemble my daughter, my husband, my family, my friends, my faith, or my love for children, except the one about wearing socks. What does that tell you about me? That I think I've figured out what's important.

Your husband is right, I think you have some great people in your life.
ReplyDeleteI love flip flops, too. I can wear them almost year round here in CA, but if not, I'm in my Ugg boots.
I admire you so much for what you do. Not only do I think nurses are the most amazing people on earth, but the fact that you care for sick children while mourning you're own is commendable.
Thank you for the shout out and the aware. I've actually received it from two other bloggers, as well. I've just been too lazy to do post mine. Plus, wondering what else there is I haven't aired publicly.
xxoo
award. not aware. :) it' too early here. been up since 3.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet words, Beth! You're right, I'm reading.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I know 7 blogs to honor, but I'll do my best to post the 7 things about me. (Although, I find it very tough to talk about me on my blog. It's much easier talking about my family!)
Take care :)
