i just read a mesage on a friend's page that made me very sad. there is a man in charlotte who's wife just gave birth to twin boys. and then she died.
i searched for her name and found her page. she left a status update the other night that said how she'd delivered, but the babies were in the NICU, and she was in the ICU for pneumonia, so she couldnt go see them, but that basically everything was fine. they would be in the hospial for a few days. people were posting messages of support. congratulating her. and then she died.
this reminds me of how i sent out a text message to my closest friends saying that kathlyn died. and then they signed onto my facebook and saw that people were still congratulating me on my upcoming delivery the next day.
the daddy/husband left a message for his supporters on his wife's page (he doesnt have his own FB, he's using hers). and he said how it comforts him to write, and he's going to keep doing it. and he's got hundreds of people commenting. so, so familiar.
i was reminded of this blog... http://www.mattlogelin.com/ ... a man who's wife died after the birth of their daughter. he raises her by himself now. and i found this entry on his page that i havent seen before. it sounds like mine.

"you are warned.
my blog deals with adult themes like, sadness, loss and death.
some of my blog entries actually contain bad words.
sometimes lots of bad words.
if you don’t like bad words, please turn away.
seriously.
if you don’t like bad words and you still feel compelled to read, well, please don’t complain on your message board or blog (i can see these things and i don’t really care to read that you don’t like that i swear so much).
i’m not going to censor my writing.
you can censor your reading though.
that said, if you can look past a “shit” here and a “fuck” there, you may actually want to check this blog out.
despite my circumstances, there are plenty of uplifting moments."
aint that the truth...

Better out than in, I say.
ReplyDeleteSo sad to hear of this mum passing and her babies still in NICU. I met a young woman here whose aunt and newborn died in Alberta over the summer. So much sadness.
I feel as though my eyes are wide, wide open.
Hi Beth - just tagged you with a Friendship award. Pass it on....
ReplyDeleteThere is so much sadness in this world ...I wish it were not so.
