my strong feelings

For He does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men - Lamentations 3:33 - This makes me feel so self righteous... sure doesn't sound like Kathlyn's death "happened for a reason" or was part of "God's plan" to me. God is good!

  1. no, God sometimes does, like in the case with david , who had sinned greatly- David said " i know , oh Lord, that your ways are righteous, and in faithfulness you have afflicted me." sometimes God does give us hard times for a purpose- but if that is the case, you will know. i dont think that is the case with you, but it is important to know that we don't like everything God does, just like a child does not like everything their parent does
    like Job says "
naked i have come from my mother's womb and naked i will return. the Lord has given and now he has taken it away. blessed be the name of the Lord!"
what scripture does say over and over about hard times is that God will "never leave us or forsake us" and my favorite verse -Romans 8- 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Just know that God promises to carry you through this and he is taking care of your baby until you can her again.

    much love to you mama!

  2. Beth, I COMPLETELY agree. I just read this last night, as part of a pastor's reasoning of why bad things happen to good people and why we should NOT blame God--God IS good. In Christ, we see a perfect picture of God's LOVE and desire to heal us and show compassion. In Job, God even tells Job that he has NO IDEA of what battles of evil God fights and doesn't have a right to be mad at God.

I'm so glad to know I am not the only one who feels like this--I know it isn't always a popular way to look at why our babies died, but I feel it is very Biblically based, founded in scripture and true. Evil happens in this world, and while God ALWAYS works those situations for good, I just don't believe He planned for Matthew be a promised miracle, only to die 8 hours after he was born. I just don't.
