my mom has told me that she likes spending time with me the most (naturally) because i remind her the most of my dad. my brothers both resemble him physically, and they have the same mannerisms and habits, but as far as true personality, im the most like him. it's comforting to her, because i do everything the way he did. one prime example, whenever we are together, whether watching tv, eating dinner at the table, etc, i always want her to come sit right by me. she was sitting in my living room with me once, not long after his death, and we were watching tv, she was on the love seat and i on the couch. we were gonna get up and make dinner and then put in a movie, and i said "ok, so after dinner, sit right next to me on the SAME couch, ok?" and it made her cry because my dad always insisted that she sit right next to him touching. he was so sweet that way. she was crying tears of sadness, but also said she loved being with me when i acted like him.
anyway, i told her a funny story tonight, and i could barely even get it out i was laughing so hard. and that made her laugh too. i was saying "you dont even know the story yet and you're already laughing!" my dad used to do that too. he would laugh simply when we laughed. or, we would laugh just at the sound of his laughter. daddy <3 <3 <3
what was so funny? next time.. it could be titled "near freak accident", "pregnant woman falls & measures on the richter scale" (except i didnt, dont worry!) "runaway doggies", or john's personal favorite as he described to my mom "when i tried to kill my wife." lol

Very sweet story. When did your Dad pass away? My stepfather passed away on April 6. He was like a Dad to me. I have been spending a lot of time with my Mom recently. My Mom has her crying moments too, but it has only been 2 1/2 weeks.
